Frequently asked questions about pricing
Does Free really stay free?
Yes. What's in the free tier today stays free for existing users — that's a public promise, not fine print. The free-tier tightening you see with other tools won't happen at omul.
Why no per-presenter price?
Because per-presenter licenses get pricier with every speaker and punish participation. By contrast, omul prices organization and brand: a flat price per workspace (Pro) or by headcount (Organization) — unlimited presenters included.
What does self-hosting cost?
Nothing. The omul core is open source under the AGPLv3. You run it on your own infrastructure with no license fees — managed self-hosting with support is available in the Organization tier.
Is a DPA / GDPR compliance possible?
Yes. For the hosted option a data processing agreement (DPA) is included, with hosting in the EU or on your servers. With self-hosting you remain the sole controller — no third party involved.
What happens with 5,000 participants?
Nothing special — it costs no extra. With omul there is no participant limit; a participant is a WebSocket connection. For very large town halls, the Event-Pass or the Organization tier with high-load support is recommended.
