Live demo: try omul right here
Every format shows up twice on this page: as the stage the room sees, and as the phone in someone's hand. You control both. Start with the poll: vote, then set the presenter strip to “On your cue”. The stage now holds back the results until you reveal them. The word cloud, quiz, Q&A and scales are further down. You don't need an account, and apart from the one real poll, nothing you do leaves your browser.

A real poll
This poll really counts
Everything else on this page runs only in your browser. This poll doesn't: it's a real omul session, and everyone who has it open sees your vote. Open the link on a second device, or scan the QR code with your phone, and vote there. The vote shows up here in the same moment.

Word cloud
Words grow every time they're repeated
Send a term from the phone, then send the same one again. It shows up in the cloud right away and gets bigger the second time. “Entries per person” sets how many terms each person can send. Set it to 1 and the phone takes nothing after the first.

Quiz
Answer after the time is up
Click “Start question”, let the seconds run out, and only then tap an answer. omul won't take it, and the phone tells you why. “Reveal answer” then puts the right option on the stage.

Q&A
The list stays closed until you publish it
Submit a question on the phone. At first you only see your own there, because the list starts out withheld. “Publish the list” on the presenter strip shows everyone the same list. Upvote a question and it moves up.

The list is not published yet. You only see what you submitted yourself.
The presenter switch under the stage publishes the list — after that you can upvote here and watch the question move.

Scales
Rate two statements, skip the third
Each rating moves the bars and the mean. Skipping gets its own count under the distribution and leaves the mean alone.
2 × skipped — its own outcome, excluded from the mean.
1 × skipped — its own outcome, excluded from the mean.
4 × skipped — its own outcome, excluded from the mean.

Questions about the demo
Is this the real app?
All but one poll. The demos copy omul's result views and run only in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent or stored, and their numbers come from a made-up sample session. The exception is the poll marked “real votes”: it's a real omul session, and your vote is counted there. The app itself is at omul.app/app.
What do my participants need?
Any device with a browser: phone, tablet or laptop. They join with the 6-digit code, a link or the QR code. They don't need an account, an app or an email address.
What does it cost to use omul like this?
Nothing on the free plan, which has no cap on participants or questions. omul is also open source under AGPLv3, so you can self-host it for free. The other plans and their prices are on the pricing page.
What can't the demos show?
Anything omul itself can't do yet. That includes an automatic profanity filter for free text, a sound for the quiz countdown, and a trend for scales across several sessions. Each format's page lists what else it lacks.
