The shared screen and every participant device run the same clock, computed on the server's time. A late submission gets a clear refusal instead of quietly vanishing.

What the quiz slide does
Scoring, without you counting
Choice or typed answer
A classic multiple-choice question with marked solutions — or a question people type into. A number estimate with a reference value and a tolerance works as a quiz question too.
A time limit per question
Seconds per question, or no limit at all. A question can be deliberately reopened when the room needs it.
Automatic scoring
Points follow from the answers and the marked solution — nothing is frozen. A corrected solution re-scores the round immediately.
Leaderboard across the deck
A slide of its own shows the standings across every quiz question. Ties share a place, and you decide how many ranks appear on the screen.
A leaderboard without real names
The board on the shared screen names no participant ids: each row carries a handle valid only inside this presentation. Players find their own place on their own device — including below the shown ranks.
One answer counts
If two answers arrive at once, the first stays the valid one. Bars, points, leaderboard and a player's own scorecard all report the same room.
Staying honest
No sound, and the countdown needs a stage
A quiz sound effect or music under the countdown isn't built. And the time limit assumes a live-run session: when participants work through a deck at their own pace there is no shared moment a question started, so the quiz runs without a countdown. omul cannot import finished quiz files from other tools.

How do I create a quiz?
Create a presentation and add quiz questions: author the options, mark the correct ones, set the time limit. A leaderboard slide shows the standings — and in between you're free to drop in ordinary slides, polls or a word cloud.
How are points awarded?
Automatically: omul compares the answers with the marked solution and accumulates points across the whole deck. Points are never frozen — correct a mis-marked solution and the round is re-scored immediately.
Is there a countdown per question?
Yes, in a live-run session. You set a time limit per question; the clock starts when you reach the slide and runs in sync on the shared screen and every participant device, on the server's time. An answer arriving after it closes is refused with a stated reason rather than silently dropped. You can also ask a question with no limit at all. When participants work through the deck at their own pace there is no shared start to measure — the quiz then runs without a countdown.
Does the audience see names on the leaderboard?
No. The board on the shared view uses handles valid only inside that presentation; participant ids never leave the server. On their own device each person sees their own row and their place.
How many people can play?
There is no participant cap — not per quiz, not per month, and not on the free plan. People join with the 6-digit code, with no account and no app.
Can I import a quiz from another tool?
No. omul imports no quiz or presentation files; existing questions are moved across by hand. That's the honest difference from the established vendors, and the comparison says so too.
